How many of you spend money on tons and tons of products for your skin, in the hope that something or the other will work? We are constantly hunting for solutions for acne, skin rashes, wrinkles, marks, scars, dry skin and the list can go on. We literally stock up on products from drug stores and cosmetic houses, we more often than not jump from one treatment to another and are dissatisfied with results.

But guess what? There are 3 basic ingredients you can find in your kitchen which have used for your skin that you will be ever grateful for. Have a look at these home remedies!

Lets get started.

 

  1. Baking Soda
  • For Acne scars: Mix baking soda with a few drops of water to form a paste, use this paste as a scrub 3 times a week, if you want a more intensive treatment, make a thicker paste and apply as a face mask 2 times a week.
  • For Zits: Mix baking soda with a few drops of lemon and apply to a zit to dry it out
  • For Black heads on your nose: Make a paste and apply on your nose. Once dry, wash it off.
  • Brighter skin: Mix baking soda with a few drops of lemon and olive oil, apply the paste and rinse off after 15 minutes.
  • Baking soda can also be used as a teeth whitener, simply rub some baking soda on your teeth 2 times for whiter teeth. You can also mix baking soda with lemon juice and strawberry pulp for a quick whitening treatment.
  • Add a few tablespoons of baking soda to your pedicure tub for a soothing foot soak.
  • Use baking soda as a dry shampoo!

 

  1. Olive Oil
  • As a moisturiser: Substitute your after bath moisturiser for Olive oil, use it after your shower on wet skin and just pat yourself dry. Your skin will remain tender and will age slower.
  • To remove makeup: Use olive oil on a cotton pad to remove makeup.
  • As an eye cream: Rub some olive oil under your eyes before bed, it will nourish your skin and soften fine lines.
  • As a facemask: Olive oil is a key ingredient for a nourishing face mask. Mix: One egg yolk, one tablespoon of olive oil & one teaspoon of lemon juice for a skin brightening face mask.

 

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Soothes Skin: Add eight ounces of apple cider vinegar to your bathtub of warm water. Apple cider vinegar has a similar pH level to the protective layer of our skin and hence, restores balance.
  • Use as a facial toner: Make a natural toner by adding one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to two cups of water. Use a cotton pad to apply this to your face. Store it in an air tight glass bottle.
  • Razor bump quick fix: Apply, undiluted to the affected area for quick relief. For very aggravated bumps apply honey on the area first, rinse off after 5 minutes and then apply the vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has anti-inflammatory properties which help soothe skin.
  • For Healing Bruises: Apply undiluted on a bruise and cover with a bandage. The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar increases blood circulation and aids healing.
  • For Bug bites: Apply undiluted for quick relief from bug bit
